Free Beach Event - Annual Kite Festival April 14

I wanted to check this out last year but the weather was awful!  Hopefully this weekend will be great for some kite flying, face painting, and sandcastle building!  Here is the email I got:

Otis' Second Annual Kite Festival

Come fly a kite with artists and students of Otis College of Art and Design! Renowned kite-maker and Otis alumnus Tom Van Sant with help guests design, build and fly their own kites. Artists Melanie Walker and George Peters present kite performances. The event brings families and communities together to make art, as 2000 nylon kites are given to guests and children from the organizations Urban Compas, Junior Blind of America, Children's Bureau and St. Jude Hospital.  Fly kites, make sandcastles, and enjoy face painting for a fun Sunday on the beach, just north of the Santa Monica Pier.
