To follow up my awesome shopping at Rite Aid I stopped in to CVS to pick up a few freebies and try my luck at the Magic Coupon Machine. I was looking to get a deal with a MCM coupon for $4/$12 cosmetics, but instead I got $5/$25 cosmetics, so I had to change up the game plan!
I already knew that the MCM is printing a coupon for every one for a free Clear shampoo. They are $4.99, and the machine is printing a $4.99 coupon. Sweet! I also printed a coupon from cvs.com for a free box of alcohol swabs. So I was happy to get those 2 freebies.
I had just been thinking to myself that I needed some more of my favorite L'Oreal eyeliner, so when I got my $5/$25 cosmectics purchase coupon, I thought I would match it up with a $5/$30 purchase CVS email coupon, and some manufacturer coupons. Here is what I ended up getting!
The rewards deals are:
Revlon - get $7 wyb $15
L'Oreal - get $4 wyb $12
3 Revlon Diamond Lust eye shadow, $5.79 each.
1 L'Oreal eyeliner, $10.49
1 L'Oreal Telescopic mascara, $10.49
1 nail polish remover, $1.02 on sale
Total Cost: $39.37
I used:
$5/$30 purchase, CVS email coupon
$5/$25 cosmetics purchase CVS coupon machine in store
$3/$10 Revlon cosmetic purchase CVS coupon, expired, but cashier accepted it
$3/1 Telescopic mascara
$1/1 L'Oreal eye product
3 x $1/1 Revlon eye product
Total Coupons: $20
I also used $19 in rewards, so I paid only $.37 before tax! I also earned back $11 in rewards. I don't think this was the best cosmetics deal ever, but I did get products that I really wanted, and the brands I wanted. Sometimes with couponing you just get whatever brands have
the deals, but with a little planning and a lot of rewards you can get the products you really love, too!
The best part about the trip was my extra rewards. I earned $5 from the Beauty Club (spend $50 on beauty earn $5), and $4 for my quarterly spending ( a percent back on spending). And I am almost up to another beauty club reward after all that make up I bought today! So I left with my $11, and a extra $9 just from doing the shopping I do anyway:)
Great! I love free stuff and I love to read people's scores.
