Franklin Canyon Duck & Turtle Pond

If you are trying to think up ways to keep your Spring Breakers entertained without spending more money, check out the duck and turtle pond at Franklin Canyon Park.  It is a sweet little spot with picnic tables in the back.  My kids love to watch the ducks and see the turtles sunbathe on the tree branches!

I usually like to bring a snack, craft, or some sort of outdoor sports game to play, because it is such a nice spot, but there is only so much looking at ducks you can take!  Our last trip I packed some wooden bird feeders to paint.  We also like to hike around the reservoir - there is a great trail inset from the road, and lots of great spots to stop and watch the water.

You can google the park, but the easiest way to get there is to go up to Mullholland and turn onto Franklin Canyon Drive, which is opposite Tree People.  When you follow the road around you will see the sign I have pictured below, and that is where you should park for the duck pond.
