This craft is so super cute, but I have a feeling in my house it wouldn't turn out quite so...perfect. I was thinking of getting a big board and drawing the outline of the flag (blue square and red stripes), and trying to get the kids to paint the right colors in the right areas, using whatever they want (brushes, hands, sponges). If that worked out we could just glue stars on later.
Whichever way you do it, I think having an oversized painting surface is pretty fun, and a great way to introduce kids to the detail and maybe the story of our flag, and flags in general. Who knows, maybe you could do a whole series and decorate the garage:)
